Opel Corsa, mk1. As a sedan even, to make it even rarer. And is this a pre-facelift version?

Were the bottoms of the doors as rusty as I expect them to be?

Four door cars are quite popular here. We have for example the Corolla which isn’t normally sold to the west of the old Iron Curtain.

I didn’t see obvious rust even though the car is isn’t restored and looks to be in frequent use. Interestingly there used to be a Figaro parked in the same spot which seemed to be gradually converting itself to a heap of rust and has now disappeared.

Because Opel at the time decided to make all their cars look exactly the same rather than go to the trouble of styling them individually.

Have a Senator, from the other end of the range:

Yeah, they definitely took the “family resemblance” philosophy too far. However, the Senator does manage to look a little more stylish than the Corsa did.
